Relaxation...a new past time I have seemed to 'just' discover. Unfortunately, I am not very good at it...but with more practice, I do think I'll get much better at enjoying calm. For most of my life, I have subconsciously seeked the deep calm that fills your soul when you truly relax...but...I have only reached relaxation at the calm found in the eye of a storm, as opposed to a real calm...a lazy river calm.
For the rest of the summer, before I eat dinner (no matter if I am alone, or with company) I am going to repeat the same cheers, and make it my mantra for the remaining dog days of the season... "Cheers,To Lazy River Relaxation...To A Calm Soul"

Tomatoes in the summer just taste right, but what to do with too many ripe and ready tomatoes you ask? Don't you worry, I got your answer!
- Extra Tomatoes (cherry/plum tomatoes work really well if you have them)
- A few sprigs of Thyme or Rosmary, chopped finely
- Sea Salt
- Finely chopped garlic cloves (as many as you like!)
- Pinch of sugar
+ Preheat the oven to 200 degree's (145 Celsius)
+ Lightly oil a baking tray with olive oil
+ Cut tomatoes in half and place them (skin side down) on your baking tray.
+ Place finely chopped garlic on top of tomatoes, and sprinkle sea salt and sugar.
+ Place tray in oven, and bake for about three hours, checking regularly (Perfect dish to make while watching a movie, because it is low maintenance)
+ Check on the regular, so tomatoes do not dry out
+ Remove when enough moisture dissipates. Store tomatoes in a sealed container, and they will stay fresh for around a week.

Thank you for pumping blood through my veins. You hurt when I am sad...you skip when I am excited; you are always with me...pumping me along. I promise to take care of you. To eat well, exercise and breathe deeply. Through love, pain, sickness and laughter, you stay steady. Beating along, creating the soundtrack of my life.

"When your goals are reached, they will be reached in the 'right now'... you will still be you, doing the same things you do now. You will still stand up. Walk around. Get root canals. Open the refrigerator door. Sleep. Feel happy. Feel devastated. Feel lonely. Feel loved. Get old. Die"
A conversation with my dear friend last week opened a path of thought... As I dramatically unraveled my problems and situations, she stopped me in my tracks with one single sentence... "Jules, it's time for you to live in the present, and enjoy the now."...Click... I realized my name is not Atlas, nor am I punished by Zeus to carry the World on my back...so why do I act like I am?
Maybe you have felt this way... Maybe you will in the future...Hopefully, this sentence will remind you of the beauty in being 'present'. Thank you my dear friend for the gift of your words...what a wonderful way to use language.

I leave you with a fact that I hope becomes a thought:
Our desire to eat stems from two different sources. The first source is hunger, which is our physical, biological drive to eat. The second is appetite, being our psychological drive to eat.
Now, think about this for awhile. Does one play a dominant role within your personal choice process? Should they have equal positions? What should our desires be based on? Should we obey?
