Easters Thoughts

Easter is almost here! Do you have any fun Easter activities or traditions? As a child I can remember the excitement of  getting a new dress for church, egg hunts, Easter baskets, pictures with the scary bunny at the mall, and warm weather.

As I reflect on past Easters, I remember the happiness I felt thinking about Jesus rising from the dead and going to heaven to be with his dad....where did that feeling go? Why do I not get excited for this holiday like I used to, and how can I rectify this situation so that I can have those feels come again?

This year I am have decided to try and take part in all those activities that have made past childhood Easters wonderful...First, I bought a new dress (easy and always makes me happy!). Next, I have done a little Easter basket shopping for my love (so really it is for me too). I think I am too big for Easter egg hunting, but I am going to make Easter arts and crafts tonight to supplement the experience. Church will be on Saturday morning (hopefully, the sun will be out), and I will be with John's family. Stay tuned to see if those happy feelings come back to me...

Our Size On Earth

Lamby Cupcakes

Seriously, these cupcakes are probably the cutest things ever...I mean, try having a frown on your face while eating a cupcake dress up like a lamb! Ina Garden makes them pretty easy to create as well! I'm thinking this weekend would be just about the perfect time to recreate her masterpieces... Hope you do the same!

Enjoy!

Tasya Tuesday

Watching babies grow and learn has always amazed and inspired me. The natural cycle at place reminds me of how quickly time moves on this Earth. When I am upset about a situation taking place in my life, my sister always reminds me that "this too shall pass". That being said, there are times in life where I would absolutely love to freeze forever, and live in the happiness I feel.

...Time always moves on, and babies keep growing...all we can do is appreciate time and its bitter-sweet movement...

I think Tasya did a wonderful job with capturing the beauty and innocence of life. Don't you?

Life in Action

If we want to have all our bases covered before we act, nothing exciting will happen. But if we dare to take a few crazy risks because God asks us to do so, many doors, which we didn't even know existed, will be opened for us.

A Lovely Quote

I ran past this quote and immediatly slowed down to read it again....

"We Come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly"
-Sam Keen; To Love and Be Loved

What a wonderful way to sum up the complexities of love in one tiny sentence. I cannot wait to read Sam Keen's book where these words became a thought, and can all but assure you, more wonderful thoughts will arrive when I do!

Tasya's Soccer Player

Tasya captures the moment again! As the weather changes, so too does our moods! I hope you all have a moment to enjoy the sunshine (if it's out by you!) and breathe in some fresh Spring air!

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away"-19th century proverb

It was the middle of the day, and my eyelids seemed to be a bit heavier than they were in the morning. Sitting at my desk, I could feel my body start to yearn for my comfy chair and a blanket...my mind wandering towards what words might be on the next page in my book...

As my work piles up around me, I could hear my brain say, "Ok, Jules it's time to focus"... but how? Should I have another cup of coffee? Another chai latte? No, jittering caffeine just will not do. But wait! I forgot about that beautiful pink lady sitting in my bag! I grab my apple (washing it off before I eat it of course)  and take a big, juicy bite...yum!

Apples are one of my all time favorite pick-me-ups. They are crunchy, juicy, sweet, easy to travel with, and are just about the perfect size snack to help make it to your next meal. I buy them in bulk, and always have them on hand... you never know when that energy drop will come, but you do know how much better you will feel after you munch on a yummy apple.

...It's the little things in life that make it so wonderful...
